Jim Heffernan

I’m a Composer / Producer / Sound Designer / Session Guitarist based in NYC. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with AMC, A&E, CBS, Discovery, History, NBC, PBS, and TLC among others… as well as advertising agencies, marketing agencies, and independent production companies.

These are great times in terms of music production, recording techniques and advancements in music technology. I’m fascinated by how physical real-world instruments and their synthetic counterparts – computers, synthesizers (analog or digital) – can be fused together during the creative process, often with incredible results. The seemingly quantum leap advancements in this arena are inspiring. I enjoy embracing new trends and utilizing these constantly evolving tools during the production process. I’m always listening for something new… Balancing my instincts along with my formal musical training and professional musicianship — fusing these attributes and skills with solid sound design and post production experience.
